About these records
Live campaign, lobbying and enforcement records come from the Washington Public Disclosure Commission. Each section uses its named date: a contribution’s receipt date, a report’s filing date, or a case’s opened, closed or updated date. Comparisons use the immediately preceding period of the same length. Amounts reflect the current records, including corrections; they are not a historical snapshot of what was known that week.
County filters use the jurisdiction county supplied by the PDC, not donor residence. Records without that county are excluded from county sections. The separate statewide sections are not county-filtered.
Report counts include amendments and superseded reports. First reports identify the earliest record under a filer ID and name, within the dataset’s coverage; they do not establish when an organization began. Donor comparisons group exact names, not verified identities.
Independent spending sums the reported portions attributed to candidates or ballot measures. Lobbying figures describe compensation in reports filed during the period, which may cover earlier work. Pledges are promises, not receipts. The sections overlap and their amounts should not be added together.
A complaint is an allegation, not a finding. An updated case record does not by itself identify what changed. Recorded enforcement changes compare successive captures of status and financial fields; the observation date is not necessarily the date of the underlying event. Earlier changes cannot be reconstructed from the current case record.
Legislative votes use the captured Washington Votes collections for available sessions. Each roll call is shown separately. An empty result does not establish that no legislative activity occurred.
Full CSV exports retrieve every matching row for the selected section. Downloading the complete briefing includes each section separately, including overlaps, scope, source links and unavailable-source notices. Live records can change during retrieval.
