A former Bellingham School District Traffic Safety Instructor has had his teaching certificate suspended following a documented pattern of inappropriate physical contact and comments directed at students and staff, according to a recent disciplinary order issued by the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Stu was the single most influential teacher I had in high school. He was kind and considerate of my unique family situation and I never ever got weird vibes from him. Years later he was on a hiring board of a private school and hired my wife as a teacher. I even attended he and his wife’s wedding. If anything, we need more teachers like Stu. I imagine the real truth of this situation will emerge.
Or maybe we believe the multiple people who came forward about his behavior and not pretend that some people are just creeps. You having a great experience, doesn't mean he wasn't inappropriate to others. Imagine if it were your child telling you that he touched them, would you still defend him? This is why we have a fucking rapist, pedo as a president.

Any teacher who inappropriatly touches children must be terminated immediately without a chance to teach again.
Consequences must be swift, clearly define the inappropriate conduct and policy violations, and hold the perpetrator accountable.
Iam a certified teacher, since 2003 and a DV survivor. I see this story as another example of systems FAILING to protect children. 🤬
