King County Nutritionist Charged Following Insurance Fraud Allegations
The Washington State Department of Health has formally charged nutritionist Erin Saena Yaseen with unprofessional conduct following allegations of insurance fraud and a subsequent failure to cooperate with state investigators.
In February 2025, the Department of Health received a formal complaint alleging that Yaseen engaged in insurance fraud.
Yaseen has held an active nutritionist credential in the state of Washington since August 21, 2008.
Failure to Cooperate
According to the Statement of Charges, which was dated November 5, 2025, the DOH issued a letter of cooperation to Yaseen on July 17, 2025, requesting information regarding the fraud allegations. The department gave Yaseen a deadline of August 7, 2025, to respond to the inquiry.
State officials allege that the DOH has not received any response.
Because she allegedly ignored the inquiry, Yaseen faces charges for unprofessional conduct under RCW 18.130.180(8)(b).
Under Washington state law, this statute outlines that it is unprofessional conduct when a license holder fails to cooperate with a disciplining authority by not furnishing a full, written explanation regarding a filed complaint.
Potential Sanctions
The charging document indicates that Yaseen is subject to discipline and sanctions if she fails to defend against the charges.
Furthermore, the Nutritionist Program noted that if the requested information is eventually received, they may evaluate whether additional violations are present or if further sanctions are warranted.
