We need to have an independent counsel here to review cases such as these since Prosecutor Nichols passed on to the state due to a conflict of interest. Taking these cases to the state level where they have thousands of cases, delays justice for this community and county. Will Burke ever be held accountable?
In this county the Prosecutor is also the legal advisor to the Commissioners and therein is the problem of conflict of interest. With the Shore Pool, two of the commissioners sit on the board. We need a counsel "firewalled" away but who can investigate (law enforcement too) and prosecute as needed so there would be no conflict of interest and we could get justice locally.
Yes,my first thought was if he would have to pay back the money . How this county continues to function at all is incredible considering the number of individuals who use their positions to fleece all the accounts .

Well, your amazement that the county can still function given ALL of the thefts and robberies of our taxpayer funds is very logical. My sciences are History, Economics, and Law, so the answer to your valid question is simpler than folks would think, even though there have been numerous excellent truths revealed that disclose exactly how that is possible. One fact is that America is fabulously wealthy even FAR beyond what most believe. Many other countries are as well. We have recently learned that MANY Trillions of dollars have been stolen from America in an astounding number of ways, which could only happen if we had that wealth, and then some, to begin with. The criminals who have been robbing America blind are now known and it is a little difficult to see today, but they have been taking quite a beating for several years now. In fact, the end is near for them... That is "The Swamp" that is being drained ;-) The truth gets really ugly and goes into some VERY dark places, however there is no need to be afraid. The best thing to do is to keep learning and stay vigilant as things unfold. Stay healthy, stocked up, and keep up the good work exchanging thoughts and ideas because that is our duty as Americans. The worlds corruption has been COMPLETELY out-of-control for a great many decades now, so it will take some time to correct the path of America and humanity so the current and future generations can really enjoy life~! There will be a HUGE change for the better ahead, as soon as the dust settles from this difficult time in history ;-) Keep the faith~!
I know the CC assessor needs to be audited.Or that certain unusual activity has occurred involving my 5 acre vacant parcel and most parcels which were once part of winters homestead.Since once ,when I contacted the assessor on a Friday afternoon at approximately 4:00 PM.to tell her I was concerned about an LDS swindler who was and is still living in a trailer with NO address but was using my late great aunt and uncles address for his Costco membership.. their home is across the road from his trailer.. and other things.. she had my parcel audited and roll back taxes due by USPS mail the following Monday. And I am curious as to why my parcel went from $147,000.00 to $45,000.00 in assesses value. Supposedly I heard because its landlocked which is bullshit.Because there is an easement permit approved in 1994/ 1995 ACROSS WETLANDS. they also reduced multiple other parcels to $45,000. value too. Trying to make it cheap for someone to swoop in and get them for dirt cheap ? because THERE is an easement.liars
its in the permit portal too. so its not my imagination. this also has to do with this flim flam con man .UGH

Now, we shall wait for the criminal prosecution of Steven Burke or push to have those evading their responsibilities to prosecute these crimes removed from their positions~! Well, I believe that you (we) are already seeing that happen, even though the mainstream media obviously won't be reporting very much on it. A LOT of high-profile people have already "disappeared" over the past 6 or so years, but most people can't see that very well because of the careful strategic way it is being accomplished... My understanding is that MANY government management positions will be eliminated across the board, so we won't need that many in government management anymore. Keep in mind that the evolution of computers and "The Internet" has already made most government management positions obsolete! We no longer need to trust government managers to make ALL of our decisions for us, because technology has advanced far enough now for us to make a great many of our own decisions... I understand that a staggering number of Individuals in congress are going down eventually, if they haven't already, so we shall see how many positions that we need to fill there because that is a very interesting question... We can't completely purge ALL of the criminals in government at one time, because it would likely lead to unnecessary civil unrest and that is not what the real Constitutional government that is in control wants. Remember, President Trump said that there will be a "smooth transition" and that means it will be pretty slow, but also orderly, and with the minimum number of injuries and deaths possible~! Americans are going to be absolutely amazed at what has been accomplished over the past decade or so when they FINALLY learn the truth about what has been going on... As an old American Constitutionalist, I would be obliged to warn folks if there was a REAL threat that was not being handled because that is part of my duty... While it’s gratifying to learn of the State’s Fraud Investigation findings, and that Burke may be held to account for his potentially criminal actions at the pool, this is not an isolated incident as it illustrates similar fraudulent actions he’s been party to for a decade.
In 2017, Burke’s part in Port malfeasance was exposed, as was the other Port Commissioner’s complicity in covering it up. That is, during an administrative hearing, Burke was found to have suggested the Port do a “shell game” to account for a financial discrepancy that would preclude the Port from receiving a $2M+ grant. In response, the Port went to extreme measures to quash this information.
Burke’s potential criminal actions at the Pool appear that they may cost the public as much as $150,000.00.
Port Commissioner’s malfeasance at the Port included the fraudulent cover-up of Port Staff oversight that cost Port taxpayers more than $2M.
It would be even more gratifying if Burke and the remaining Port Commissioners were held to account for their egregious actions at the Port.
