Silver Alert Canceled: Missing Port Angeles Man Located
A 75-year-old Port Angeles man who was the subject of a Washington State Patrol Silver Alert has been located, authorities confirmed.
The alert for Axel Lorenzsonn was officially canceled by the Washington State Patrol Missing Person Alerts division, bringing a positive resolution to the search.
Lorenzsonn had been reported missing after last being seen at approximately 3:00 a.m. on July 3, 2026, off East 9th Street in Port Angeles, heading in an unknown direction.
The Port Angeles Police Department requested the Silver Alert due to serious concerns for Lorenzsonn’s safety.
According to the initial alert poster, the 75-year-old was experiencing an “escalated state of crisis” and was known to have diminished decision-making capacity, which posed a credible threat to his health and well-being as determined by the investigating agency.
During the search, authorities asked the public to call 9-1-1 if he was seen and to keep an eye out in areas Lorenzsonn was known to frequent, which included downtown Port Angeles, the local Safeway, various city parks, and unhoused camps.
Fortunately, the WSP later updated the public, confirming that Lorenzsonn had been successfully located in Port Angeles.
