Nearly one in five families in Clallam County Superior Court's domestic system are left in legal limbo for over a year and a half. The State report indicated that Clallam County failed to hit all Judicial Administration benchmarks.
The numbers presented in the report are nothing short of alarming. Despite the fact that Clallam County makes up less than 1% of the statewide population, the county is responsible for 11.5% of all statewide domestic relation cases ---- THAT IS SCARY ESPECIALLY FOR THE FAMILIES.
Susie, I love what you find. I do have a feeling though that the "defense" the courts and Commissioners would use that the cases are backed up, of course, will be "we don't have the funding". It's always the same excuse to increase taxes. The fault is always aimed back at the taxpayers.
The Olympic Herald investigations are not only factual but eye opening! Yes, Basden’s record is indicative of a county’s failing its citizens, but the rot within the judicial court system and the cronyism extends beyond...to the Commissioners (and other governing bodies) running Clallam County. It is all a connecting web of the Good Old Boy Network.
Clallam County citizens are fighting back against this system of cronyism and I’m convinced the citizens will be a role model for the citizens in other counties to do the same. We are taking back and going forward to regain what we have lost and hopefully to be the bellwether and flock leader for others to follow.
Substack’s like The Olympic Herald are a huge part of informing citizens of their county’s seedier activities. There are other substacks doing the same who compliment (not compete) with one another by covering areas in different angles of investigations. The one below I recommend for Clallam County, but I would also like to know of other substacks.
I found out about The Olympic Herald in a substack and was truly grateful and impressed.

Just one recent example of why it's important these cases are handled promptly https://www.king5.com/article/news/local/court-records-show-history-threats-at-key-peninsula-home-before-fatal-stabbings/281-3807a3c6-2c5b-4be6-94ba-bb3e8a1070c7
