Former Clallam County Drug Court Coordinator Johnny F. Watts Jr. remains scheduled for trial February 1, 2027, on federal drug and firearm charges.
Watts has pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm. His case is pending before U.S. District Judge Tiffany M. Cartwright in Tacoma.
Judge Cartwright set the February trial date in August, granting unopposed requests to postpone the trial for Watts and co-defendant Jonathan E. Karns. The trial had previously been scheduled for Aug. 17, 2026.
Since that scheduling order, the only additional activity in the case is a September 25 notice from Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Greenberg entering the case as counsel for the government.
Under the current schedule, motions are due January 1, followed by a pretrial conference January 25 at 9:30 a.m. The trial is set to begin February 1 at 9 a.m.
Watts was released on court-imposed conditions in June.
