A Sequim landlord was arrested early October 17 after a tenant reported that the man was firing a gun at him and deputies said the landlord later threatened to kill the tenant during a phone call.
Randy Raymond Lima, 52, was booked into the Clallam County Jail on suspicion of felony harassment involving threats to kill, according to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office. No injuries were reported.
The incident began around 8:45 p.m on October 16, when the tenant called 911 from the Sequim area. A dispatcher could hear bangs in the background as the caller reported that his landlord was shooting at him, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to the 1500 block of Atterberry Road. While they were speaking with the tenant, the landlord called and threatened to kill him, according to the release.
Deputies identified the landlord as Lima, who lived in a house on the adjacent property. Authorities evacuated neighboring residents for their safety and obtained a warrant to arrest him at his home.
The Peninsula Crisis Response Team responded, along with Port Angeles and Sequim police officers and Washington State Patrol troopers.
The crisis response team took Lima into custody around 12:25 a.m. October 17, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The agency said additional charges involving Lima’s alleged use or possession of a firearm were pending further investigation.
